My friend, and ex-Sound + Vision colleague, Rob Medich, has a very interesting article coming out in TV Guide soon. I get being snarky. My personality has often been described as equal bits sarcastic, caustic, and brutally honest, so I get being snarky. What I can't take is a reviewer saying something that he doesn't mean in an effort to try and come off as hip or cool. I'll admit that I'm not much a fan of the Winter Olympics. Much of the coverage is of  X-Games type events that can be found nearly any week on TV. And the one even that does seem like it would be really cool -- Biathalon; I mean skiing AND shooting? Come on! -- is surprisingly boring to watch. However, one event that sucks me in is curling. I came home last night to be greeted by my daughter at the door with shouts of, "Daddy, you're never going to guess what is in the pool!" This was followed by my wife saying, "I don't envy you...." So, in the rain I had to retrieve a giant, dead and bloated possum from the bottom of our pool. And then carry it and unceremoniously dump it into a trashcan. Nice.
