Blu-Pon: Get paid (practically) to buy Toy Story Blu-ray!

Posted on March 24, 2010 at 12:54 PM

As I’ve mentioned in the past, Dana has been on a coupon tear lately, only temporarily slowed down by our computer going on a fleeting cease-and-desist. Normally the coupons she seeks out are mega-lo fiber bars, feminine hygiene and make-up items, and, well, basically anything that has an option to “click to send to printer.” However, yesterday she scored us an awesome deal on something that I will actually use and enjoy: the new Toy Story Blu-ray discs. (The irony is that we were JUST talking about whether or not we’d upgrade, and I said if we could get them both for under $20, I’d do it. Disney, I knew you listened to me!)

If you already own either the Toy Story 1 and/or 2 DVD or VHS tape, you can go to Disney Movie Rewards Website (click here) and enter the UPC code. This will allow you to print a $10 off coupon on the new Blu-ray combo pack. Ifyou have both movies, that’s $20 in coupons. Currently Target has the movies on sale for $22.99, but if you buy them both you get an instant $10 off savings. Plus, each movie comes with a code that is redeemable for a free ticket to see Toy Story 3 this summer (you know you're going to, so why now do it for free?). So, here’s the math:

Toy Story 1 Blu-ray: $22.99

Toy Story 2 Blu-ray: $22.99

Total price: $45.98

Instant Target discount for buying both films: -$10.00

Discount for already owning the movies: -20.00

Two included codes for free Toy Story 3: -$17.00 (average movie ticket price $8.50)

Net price of buying Toy Story 1 and 2 on Blu-ray: <$1.02>

Satisfaction that comes from knowing you own them both on Blu-ray? Priceless.
