Best Of: Volume 1 - The Early Years
Posted on September 17, 2010 at 10:30 AM |
I know that many of you have found me recently. And to each and every one of you I say a sincere, "Welcome!" And while I would *love* for you to go back through the archives and read each and every one of the classic gems, I realize that that is unlikely. (Unless you are Andrew from Elgin, IL, who did that very thing!)
So, I have been sending out fairly regular bi-ish weekly e-mail missives to members talking about the goings-on here, and I thought I would start posting up some of the old ones with links to some of the older stories that I found especially funny or poignant or bizarre, or what have you. So, here is the first batch. If you see something that strikes your fancy, click on you Crazy Diamond! As always, welcome the comments. Love to hear what you like. (You can keep the don't likes mostly to yourself.)
This post is important, because it was the FIRST post for the site. I was still finding my way a bit, and this is FAR different from the posts that would immediately follow....
(From March 11)
Anti-3D rant for today, -- 3D I kind of already hate you -- plus a couple of other links if you haven't read them. And still looking for more additions to the Top 10 movie list (Pierre and Dan, I'm totally e-looking at you!). [Note: They have since contributed, the power of techno bullying at work!]
I had to endure a full day of persecution from AOL when they somehow firewalled me OUT of my e-mail account. Read the entirely nightmarish saga here...
An example of some terrific customer service while buying a chainsaw of all things.
Blockbuster, my hate for you is no secret. Especially after this post, Blockbuster I come to Bury not Praise [That they have since gone on to file bankruptcy but still manage to stay in business gives me no satisfaction.]
My friend Dan purchased an outrageously expensive coffee machine. And I say, "Good on ya, Dan!" This is the kind of extravagance that the A/V world seems to be losing!
I can be rolling along, totally nice and civil one second and then an Ass the next. I have determined that I have an Ass Switch. And these are the ways that it can be flipped.
The whole Ethanol in gas thing sucks. I can't put it any more succinctly than this title: Ethanol, kiss my Assanol
Also, a big welcome to newest member, Viana, from Aston Martin. That's right. Aston. Martin. (Who also got me my first International hit from Aston HQ in England!) [Sadly, shortly hereafter a big Goodbye to most recently departed member, Viana from Aston Martin. Not sure why we lost her, but undoubtedly she'll be missed.]
Happy Motoring,
John Sciacca
